A Better Methodology

Ultrasound is a faster and less expensive technique than traditional leak detection methodologies.

One method of leak detection in refineries is to use a helium tracer and detector. In this method, the normal fluid is removed from the line, and the line is pressurized with a test gas that contains helium. A helium detector is then used to sense the presence of helium in the air above the line.

 

Ultrasound, however, has several advantages:

  • Faster

  • Less Expensive

  • Easier to Use

  • Not Affected by Wind

  • Detects from Greater Distances - up to 300ft (100m)
